Antillia Apartments 4*

Centrally located in the town centre and just a few minutes walk to the marina and our boat base, Antillia Hotel**** offers spacious family accommodation and self catering apartments. There are excellent facilities including outdoor and indoor pools, gym, health spa, restaurant, bar and games room.  

The Antillia 4**** was built in 2008. The style is somewhat “dated” with very neutral, plain décor. However, although the style is not as modern as some hotels with characterful interior design, it is maintained well, very clean with top quality beds and linen and is a very practical option for families or guests wanting more space with some self catering options. One and two bed apartments have 2 sofa beds in the lounge which have full size single mattresses and are arranged in an L shape, so work well for children teens and adults too. All rooms are air conditioned and fitted with cable TV. Apartments include an open-plan living room with kitchen and dining area. Free WiFi is available in the rooms and private parking is available for €12 per day. 

Hotel Antillia uses renewable energy to heat water and grass roofs adorn some areas of the hotel. The buildings are deliberately built to a low level in keeping with the height of buildings in the surrounding area.

Towels to use at hot springs and geothermal pools on Sao Miguel Island are sold at Hotel Antillia reception for 12 euros each (as at July 2025).

Sustainability initiatives

• All showers are water-efficient (e.g. smart showers and low-flow showerheads).

• Double-glazed windows.

• Electricity used by customers in the rooms is controlled through access cards and motion sensors.

• Existence of heat pumps for heating sanitary water.

• Existence of solar panels for water heating.

• Implementation of an active policy of changing towels and sheets only at the customer’s request.

• Installation of flow reducers.

• Investment of a percentage of revenue in local community and sustainability-related projects.

• No food waste policy, which includes education, reduction, recycling, waste prevention, and treatment of food waste.

• No use of plastic straws, cups, cutlery, and plates.

• Presence of green spaces in the accommodation.

• Provide information to our customers about ecosystems, local heritage, and culture.

• Rechargeable amenities to reduce plastic consumption.

• Use of at least 80% locally sourced food.

• Use of concentrated cleaning and sanitizing products, thus reducing plastic consumption.

• Use of LED lamps in at least 80% of the lighting.

• Use of rainwater for irrigation.

• Waste separation (green, undifferentiated, plastics and metal, paper/cardboard, and glass).
