With one of the highest waterfalls on Sao Miguel Island Grená Wildlife Park in Furnas features one of the most stunning walking trails on the island. There are several trails ranging from 500m to 5.4km and hammocks are available to hire to relax and enjoy the views enroute. Bikes and kayaks are also available and there is a tea shop at the entrance for refreshments. There is an entrance fee to the park (approx. 10 euros as at Nov 2021). This beautifully refurbished self catering guest house with 7 rooms is set in a one-hundred-year-old building featuring a sun terrace with dining tables and an outdoor pool. Free WiFi access is also available for guests. The theme is modern, bright and contemporary with the comfort of guests considered throughout from the facilities in the communal kitchen to the complimentary refreshments for guests. Each bedroom is uniquely decorated with either ensuite facilities or adjacent private bathroom.

A shared lounge area with retro-style armchairs and a flat-screen TV is also available. Our boat base is 15-20 minute walk from the guest lodge and the old town centre is approximately 5 minutes by foot. Guests have the option to add continental breakfast to their booking for approx 10 euros pp.

This villa is divided into two floors, the lower floor containing the two bedrooms. These floors are connected by a staircase and it is not advertised for families with small children. The open plan layout features floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors with accessible large balcony. The balcony offers comfortable deck chairs and dining table to share a meal enjoying the outstanding sunset looking over the ocean.
