The Grand Hotel Azores Atlantico***** has a formal and traditional elegant style and is well known for its prime location with friendly yet unobtrusive service . Just 3 minutes walk to our boat base and close to the historical centre, the hotel faces the marina and the ocean. The contemporary design evokes the European style of “Grand Hotel” with references to Ponta Delgada’s maritime history. The à la carte restaurant “Barcarola” overlooks the marina and specialises in Portuguese cuisine while the bistro near reception serves light meals and drinks. A sumptuous breakfast is included featuring a selection of locally produced products and the hotel caters for guests with specific dietary requirements. Guests can also enjoy use of the indoor pool and gymnasium.

Hotel rooms are sound proofed and come equipped with flat screen cable TV, mini bar and air conditioning. Guests can choose from city view rooms, ocean view rooms and suites. Interconnecting ocean view rooms are available for families. Centrally located in the town centre and just a few minutes walk to the marina and our boat base, Antillia Hotel offers spacious family accommodation in modern rooms and self catering apartments. There are excellent facilities including outdoor and indoor pools, gym, health spa, restaurant, bar and games room.

All rooms are air conditioned and fitted with cable TV. Apartments are one or two bedroom with 2 x single sofa beds in the lounge and include an open-plan living room with kitchen and dining area. Free WiFi is available in the rooms and private parking is available for €12 per day.

Hotel Antillia uses renewable energy to heat water and grass roofs adorn some areas of the hotel. The buildings are deliberately built to a low level in keeping with the height of buildings in the surrounding area.

Towels to use at hot springs and geothermal pools on Sao Miguel Island are sold at Hotel Antillia reception for 12 euros each (as at July 2025).

This luxurious hotel is located alongside the marina – just a 10 minute walk to our boat base. The hotel design is innovative and contemporary. It has a wine and cheese shop together with an excellent restaurant with views over the harbour and out to sea. There is a spectacular panoramic roof top out door pool and bar. Buffet breakfast is served in the restaurant overlooking the harbour and is included. The hotel is made up of 123 rooms and suites all with breath taking views of the ocean. The Octant Hotel Ponta Delgada features a casino, conference centre with 7 rooms, gym, spa and lobby market. The spa is environmentally friendly and they use natural, organic and locally produced products. A TERRA restaurant features local and fresh produce, their menu pays tribute to traditional Azorean foods and flavours.

Rooms have patio doors leading onto balconies to take in the view. The rooms facilities include, air conditioning, soundproof walls, minibar, telephone, safe box, coffee machine, kettle/complimentary tea, USB ports, and a flat-screen cable TV . Private bathrooms come with a walk in shower (suites have bath and walk in shower), a hairdryer, bathrobe, hair dryer and free molten brown toiletries. Free WiFi is available throughout. The hotel’s interior is inspired by the natural surroundings of Ponta Delgada, showcasing their use of wood and shades of calming green.

24 hour access to the pool and gym and breakfast can be ordered any time of the day. For double rooms – maximum 2 adults and 1 child in an extra bed.

Accommodation sustainability policy

– The Azor has developed a project called DHM green (reduce, reuse and recycle) that is being implemented in all our hotels and these measures will make it possible to reduce the environmental footprint of the hotel.

– They guarantee the application and execution of the various measures and the constant awareness for all the hotel staff.

– The hotel has developed a Certification system as a way to encourage the staff to make this change increasingly visible.

This traditional Azorean building was once a school. A former pupil (the current owner) beautifully restored the building and incorporated the college theme throughout the décor (hence the name “Colegio”). This hotel is in a good, central location and approximately 10 minutes walk to our boat base. Rooms are modern and come equipped with a minibar, air conditioning, TV, and private bathroom with hairdryer. The hotel has a good sized outdoor pool (not heated) located in the inner courtyard and there is free WIFI throughout. The hotel has a restaurant that serves a good buffet breakfast and signature cuisine, made from locally grown ingredients. There is free parking for guests in the hotel car park (for up to 8 cars on a first come first served basis). There is also on street parking nearby for an extra fee. Guests can book double, twin and triple rooms and our solo guests are allocated double rooms for sole use.
