Sao Miguel Island is home to two of the only tea plantations in Europe, Gorreana Tea and Chá Porto Formoso. Tea is produced using traditional methods and is grown organically on the lush, green hills of Ribeiro Grande on the north of the island. A visit to the tea plantations is included in our full day geo tour to Furnas. You can add this full day tour to your booking either before you go (recommended due to availability) or when you are there at our boat base.
