Just 10 minutes walk to our boat base, the quality and design of this hotel is outstanding. There is also an outdoor terrace for guests to relax, free WiFi, elevator, air conditioning, a bar and a shared lounge. A delicious breakfast is included.

This world class spa hotel is a perfect add on for a few days before or after your holiday, only 10 mins from the centre of Ponta Delgada offering private and group pilates and yoga classes, tennis courts, an infinity pool and a hot tub in the pineapple glass house as well as a steam room and sauna. It boasts 2 excellent restaurants and is a perfect place before or after your activities on one of the holidays. Some guests stay here during the holiday  but please note due to the location, you will need taxi transfers or a hire car.

This charming boutique hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. We absolutely love it! It is pure luxury and is positioned in a 12,000km farm with beautiful greenery and plenty of places to relax. The location is a 5 minute drive outside the centre of Ponta Delgada and a 7 minute drive from the Ponta Delgada airport. Guests can arrange taxi transfers to the boats and will be collected from the hotel for the land tours.  The Hotel is surrounded by beautiful tranquil landscaped gardens with an infinity swimming pool. There is also a tennis court and a jacuzzi set in the botanical glasshouse which is magical at night. The gym, Turkish bath and exercise studio is of a very high standard with a “reformer pilates machine”, 2 paddle courts, yoga, pilates and general exercise classes available.

You can choose from suites, garden villas and en suite rooms. The hotel also has a family suite, child minding service and a large children’s playroom. The Senhora has staff who monitor the children’s games, parents are welcome to interact as long as they wish. Their Magma restaurant either uses their own produce grown on site or local produce and they are the main ingredients throughout their menu. The hotel grows their own vegetables, fruit trees and flowers. Their chefs created the menu solely based on fresh and organic food. The Senhora also has a large wine cellar made up of the best wines in their region. The Magma bar provides guests with an extensive drinks menu, ambient music, snooker, snacks and a cosy fireplace. 

This hotel is located on the outskirts of Ponta Delgada. You will need to book and pay for taxi transfers to/from the boat base (approx. 8 mins by road). We suggest the taxis to the boat base are booked with the hotel reception and taxis to return to the hotel are booked with our boat base (or you can go to the nearby taxi rank).

If you have booked land tours, your pick up/drop off point will either be the boat base (you will need to book taxis as above) or we will arrange to collect and drop you back to Senhora da Rosa for a supplement of approx £10pp return

All airport transfers will be to and from the hotel.

This is a charming, beautifully designed boutique hotel located in the historical centre of Ponta Delgada – just a 10 minute walk to our boat base. Inspired by some of the most prominent figures of Azorean history, the hotel theme pays tribute to the culture, society and heritage of the region. The décor is stylish and artistic with volcanic stone walls and restored original features.

There are 22 en-suite studios and suites with TV, air conditioning and optional private garden terrace for a supplement. With views over the old town to the sea this accommodation is great for couples and families alike. We accommodate our families here in the larger suites that have a sofa bed, convenient kitchenette. These rooms also have a sliding partition to create 2 separate living spaces for families. Every room will include storage space, wardrobes, safety deposit box and a ensuite bathroom with a shower. Guests are provided with extra bed linen and towels. Buffet breakfast is included. Features include free WIFI, roof top pool, gym, bar, shared lounge, jacuzzi, wellness centre with a hammam, sauna and hot tub and 24 hour front desk and room service.

Just 10 minutes walk to our boat base, this charming hotel is one of our favourites. It was originally built in 1901 and has been recently renovated with great attention to restore the original features. The restoration has maintained the elegance and historical character of this grand house which was originally built for a member of the Portuguese royal family. Staying here is a real treat with high ceilings and immaculate bed linen and tasteful rooms looking out to the palm trees (from which the name Palmeiras is derived). It is set in a quiet historical part of the city conveniently located for the harbour and restaurants. Breakfast is a splendid buffet with fresh local produce: cereals, fruits, cheeses, breads and pastries as well as cooked dishes prepared by the resident breakfast chef. The house does not have a lift – your baggage will be taken to your room and collected.  There is parking and tea and coffee available all day.

All 10 rooms have have bright large windows looking out to the garden or city centre. Rooms feature air conditioning, heating, free WIFI, flat screen TV, towels, hair dryer and private ensuite bathrooms with a shower. Each room at the Casa das Palmerias is named after an endemic plant because of their botanical themed inspiration for the interior of the hotel. The design of each room is dedicated to the history of the Casa das Palmerias. The top floor has great view of the city and the ocean. The ground floor of the hotel welcomes you by their grand entrance hall and dining room.

This recently renovated historic building is set in the heart of the town and has been elegantly restored to retain many classic architectural features, stunning windows with wooden shutters and sculptured doorways whilst combining modern luxury. There are 9 self catering apartment rooms (equipped with a simple kitchenette) and a classy patisserie at the ground floor entrance where breakfast can be purchased*. As you walk in the grand doorway, it really conjures the romance and sense of occasion you would expect to find in a Paris boulevard! Breakfast at the Armazens Cogumbreiro is not included but the hotel patisserie on the ground floor serves continental breakfast and various delightful patisserie which you can purchase. They also have a kitchenette in the rooms to make your own breakfast! They also offer artisani homemade ice cream on site.

Rooms are light with big windows. Features include a flat screen TV, desk, tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning, bed linen/towels and an en-suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries. The twin/double rooms can accommodate a child on an extra bed (aged 12 years and under).

The location is a few minutes walk to the harbour so after an exhilarating trip to sea you can pop back for a snack and a nap!
